Overview
Dr. Johnathan Burchill is an Adjunct Associate Professor and the Manager of Research Projects in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. His research primarily focuses on upper atmospheric physics, including the physics of ionosphere-thermosphere interaction and planetary atmospheric outflow. He develops scientific instrumentation for scientific sounding rockets and CubeSats. As well, Dr. Burchill aims to improve space plasma metrology to enable more quantitative research into the physics of Earth's space environment.
