Joan Snyder receiving the Order of Canada

Celebrating Joan Snyder's legacy

“Philanthropy is more than money, it’s helping people. The community coming together, each giving what they can and supporting each other, just as my parents taught me.”

Joan Snyder, Hon. LLD’11, CM

Joan Snyder was a visionary philanthropist, “grandmother of Canadian women’s hockey” and a true friend to the community. Her generous $67.5-million gift to the ÁůľĹÉ«ĚĂ will take chronic-disease research, sport science and athletics to new heights — for the benefit of all Canadians.

We are honoured to carry on her compassion and dedication by helping the people and community she loved, for generations to come.
