When MacKimmie Tower first opened in the 1960s, bell-bottoms and lava lamps were popular, and only six James Bond movies had been released! Â
Back then, long wooden tables and chairs were housed amid rows of book stacks for students to inhabit. Much has changed in the past half-century, but these historic tables and chairs have been lovingly restored for the new Hunter Student Commons. Â
Now, students are cramming for finals while sharing TikToks and watching Netflix. Generations of learning continues.
