2021 U Make a Difference Award nominees and recipients announced
ɫ U Make a Difference awards program recognizes individuals and teams who exemplify excellence and the ability to reach above and beyond in our university community. These awards are an important aspect of the university's culture of recognition.
Following the 2020 U Make a Difference Awards recipient announcement in early summer, the 2021 recipients are announced today.
“I want to thank everyone who took time out of their schedule during this very busy year to nominate their colleagues and recognize their outstanding work,” says President Ed McCauley. “It’s no surprise that this year’s recipients have demonstrated outstanding leadership in numerous areas of research, teaching, learning, and community engagement. These leaders deserve special recognition for generating ideas, engagement and collaborations that fuel excellence at UCalgary.”
In 2021, nine individuals and two teams received the U Make a Difference Award. These awards recognized excellence across three categories:
- Innovation and Curiosity
- Collaboration and Communication
- Positive Work Environment and Community
