Craig Ginn featured contributor to the Songs of Justice Project
The Songs of Justice Project features 10 original songs and lyric videos that inform historical relations between Canada and its Indigenous peoples. The songs represent a spectrum of expression.  Some songs challenge the apologetics of colonialism, exposing discrimination and genocide. Others celebrate the perseverance and goodness of Indigenous pathways and teachings. Five songs draw attention to the historical and current significance, both spiritual and political, of Louis Riel and the Métis people. Â
One of the songs,ÌýWalk With Me,Ìýis about the annual Lac Ste Anne pilgrimage, walking together in a good way, and the unique relationship between Indigenous and Catholic traditions. The song has been selected as part of the Lac Ste Anne Pilgrimage offered virtually this year. Craig Ginn composed the music, and co-wrote the lyrics with Carla Ginn and Derek Pulliam. Monique Riel completed the lyric video featuring images and video clips from various sources including images provided by photographer Steve Simon (Healing Waters). Special thanks to Métis elder Doreen Bergum for reviewing the lyrics, and sharing stories, insights, and family pictures about Lac Ste Anne.Â
