Congratulations to Dr. Bafumiki Mocheregwa upon his recent appointment as a tenure-track assistant professor of African History at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM).  He has also been appointed as a fellow of the Dale Center for the Study of War and Society and a faculty affiliate of the Center for Black Studies at USM.   Dr. Mocheregwa completed his PhD in the ����ɫ��’s Department of History in January 2021 under the supervision of Dr. Tim Stapleton.  Dr. Mocheregwa’s thesis is entitled ““`Thebe ya Sechaba;’ A History of the Botswana Defence Force, c. 1977 – 2007.”   Among his recent publications is “The Botswana Defence Force’s Policy of Arms Procurement in the Late Cold War Period and Beyond,” War and Society, Vol. 41 (2022), 53-68. Before pursuing PhD, Dr. Mocheregwa completed an MA in History at Trent University in Ontario and an undergraduate degree at the University of Botswana.
