New CIHR funding opportunity
The CIHR Institute of Gender and Health has just launched a new initiative - CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chairs.
The purpose of this funding opportunity is to support in-depth investigations in the field of sex and gender science by promoting a cadre of discipline-specific Chairs to increase visibility and drive innovation in their respective fields. The Chairs will investigate sex and/or gender as a primary research question within the investigator’s field of research, while also building capacity and sharing findings within and outside of their research communities.
This funding opportunity will support a total of 19 CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chairs in the following research areas (full details can be found on ResearchNet<>):
 *  CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chair in Circulatory and Respiratory Health (Mid-Career)
 *  CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chair in Cancer Research (Early/Mid-Career)
 *  CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chair in Genetics
 *  CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chair in Infection and Immunity
 *  CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chair in Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis
 *  CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chair in Neurosciences, Mental Health and Addiction
 *  CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chair in Diabetes
 *  CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chair in Clinical Applications of Sex Hormones
 *  CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chair in Stem Cell Research
 *  CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chair in Dynamics of Caregiving in an Aging Society (Early/Mid-Career)
 *  CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chair in Indigenous Peoples’ Health
 *  CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chair in LGBTQI2S Wellness and Resilience
 *  CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chair in Healthy Cities
 *  CIHR Sex & Gender Science Chair in Clinical Health Services and Policy Research (Early/Mid-Career)

The maximum amount per chair is $175,000 per year ($100,000 for research support, $75,000 for capacity-building activities) for up to four years, for a total of $700,000 per Chair. The application deadline is October 8th, 2019.
