Seymour Schulich Scholarships and Awards
General Information and Policies
Seymour Schulich Scholarships and Awards are available to students entering their first year of post-secondary studies in the faculty of Engineering who will be admitted to the U of C on the basis of their high school grades.
- Eligibility: Students must be entering a Fall Term in the Faculty of Engineering at the Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ.
Seymour Schulich Community Service/Entrepreneurial High School Awards are awarded based on demonstrated contribution to school life, community service or evidence of entrepreneurial talent. Academic merit is also a component. Seymour Schulich Academic Excellence High School Scholarships are awarded based on exceptional academic merit.
- Requirements: The payment of monetary awards, with the exception of certain prizes and graduating scholarships, is contingent upon the student maintaining full‑time status in the immediate Fall and Winter terms. Unless otherwise stated in the conditions, the recipient must be in actual full‑time attendance at the University of Calgary before receiving the awards. Payment of tuition and fees is the first charge against such awards. If the value of an award is stated as Atuition and fees,@ it is understood not to include differential fees. Supplemental, deferred and special deferred examinations or term work may affect eligibility for certain awards.
Students must be officially admitted to the Schulich School of Engineering and be registered in a minimum course load of five half courses/15 units per term for both Fall and Winter. Spring and/or Summer courses cannot be used to reduce course-load requirements, nor will grades from these courses be used in calculating the grade point average required for renewal.
Seymour Schulich Community Service/Entrepreneurial High School Awards are renewable in second and third year conditional on the achievement of a minimum grade point average of 2.70 on a minimum course load of five half courses/15 units per term for both Fall and Winter, satisfactory progress in the engineering program as determined by the Schulich School of Engineering and evidence of a commitment to continued community service/entrepreneurial activities.
Seymour Schulich Academic Excellence High School Scholarships are renewable in the second and third year conditional on the achievement of a minimum grade point average of 3.50 on a minimum course load of five half courses/15 units per term for both Fall and Winter and satisfactory progress in the engineering program as determined by the Schulich School of Engineering.
