Introduction to Petroleum Land Management

Petroleum land management including both technical and economic considerations in the search for and development and marketing of oil and gas resources. A field trip and/or simulation exercise may be required.

Prerequisites: Admission to the Bachelor of Commerce program, competitive admission to the Petroleum Land Management concentration, successful completion of 10.0 full-course equivalents including one half 200-level course in Geology and Business and Environment 395, or holder of a Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent, or consent of the Haskayne School of Business.

Corequisites: Petroleum Land Management 477.

Note: Credit for both Petroleum Land Management 475 and Energy Management 303 will not be allowed.

Introduction to Oil and Gas Agreements

The concepts of ownership in the Canadian oil and gas industry, including Crown and freehold leases, basic oil and gas agreements, and assignment documentation.

Prerequisites: Admission to the Bachelor of Commerce program, competitive admission to the Petroleum Land Management concentration, successful completion of 10.0 full-course equivalents including one half 200-level course in Geology and Business and Environment 395, or holder of a Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent, or consent of the Haskayne School of Business.

Corequisites: Petroleum Land Management 475.
