AuroraMAX
AuroraMAX is a public outreach initiative dedicated to sharing the science and the splendour of Canada's northern lights. The heart of the project is our observatory, which broadcasts the aurora borealis in high definition live from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, during the aurora season. The project is designed to raise awareness of the science of the aurora, and how the Sun's relationship with Earth affects our daily lives.
The AuroraMAX project is a collaborative initiative between the Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ, the City of Yellowknife, Astronomy North and the Canadian Space Agency. The Auroral Imaging Group at the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà provides technical and scientific support for AuroraMAX. The City of Yellowknife hosts the AuroraMAX Observatory and uses images from AuroraMAX to promote aurora tourism and share Yellowknife's sky with the world.
