Geomicrobiology, Enviromics, and Microbial Markets
The Geomicrobiology Group, Enviromics Group, and Microbial Markets Lab bring together researchers from the Departments of Geoscience and Biological Sciences from UCalgary and the Faculty of Science and Technology from Athabasca University with expertise in microbial ecology, genomics, and geochemistry. Our research spans from Calgary to the Rocky Mountains, all across Alberta, and beyond into Canada’s oceans. Using cutting-edge tools, we solve microbial puzzles and work to provide solutions to challenges facing the planet. We support a diverse, collegial, inclusive, and equitable research environment fostering scholarship, collaboration, and entrepreneurship.
