Get a sneak peek of the new academic calendar website

New website will go live in March 2024 with 2024/25 academic calendar year

A new academic calendar website is being introduced to the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà community. Substantial improvements include a modern product and website, and an accessible, mobile-friendly and searchable digital experience.

UCalgary and the Office of the Registrar initiated a project to update the current calendar software in June 2022. A full analysis of requirements was gathered, followed by a request for proposal process to award a contract to a new vendor for managing our university academic calendar. The contract was awarded to a company called Coursedog.

The new system supports many improved features including:Ìý

  • Implementation of a modern search tool provides quick and easy access to academic regulations, policies, programs and course information.

  • Improved efficiency of our governance processes. Our new unified product will reduce risks of errors, support modern workflow processes and enable everyone involved in calendar changes to work from a singular source of truth.

  • The current product is unsupported and on outdated technology. It is no longer compatible with modern browsers and has frequent site failures in the module used to edit and modify the web content.

We encourage staff and students to provide feedback as we move toward our go-live launch in March 2024. We would like to hear from you if you find inconsistencies between the old and new calendars, feedback regarding the layout, or anything else you see that may be a concern.
