Undergraduate Awards

General Information and Policies

Undergraduate Awards are offered to students continuing in an undergraduate program at the U of C. There are scholarships and bursaries for students enrolled in any undergraduate program, as well as many awards directed to students studying within specific faculties and programs. There are two types of undergraduate awards:
A Nominated award is based on academic merit and other specific criteria and is normally designated to a specific faculty.
A Competitive award is based on academic merit. If stated in the conditions of the award, other criteria such as extracurricular activities, leadership involvement, contribution to community or campus life and financial need will be considered.

Bachelor of Education (Master of Teaching Program) students are eligible to apply for Undergraduate Awards designated to the Faculty of Education at the U of C.

A.T.J. Cairns Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship Estate of Professor A.T.J. Cairns 6 up to $2000 1 Offered annually to continuing undergraduate students who have declared either a major or minor in English.
2 Selections are made by the Department of English based on academic merit in Creative Writing in English, English Literature, and related literary fields.
3 To be eligible, recipients must be registered full time but need not be carrying a full course load.
A.W.R. Carrothers Scholarship Students' Union, Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ
Established in commemoration of the official installation of Dr. A.W.R. Carrothers as president and vice-chancellor of the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà (1969)

Established in in memory of her sister and brother in-law.

Associated Engineering Award Associated Engineering Ltd.
Associated Engineering is a Canadian, employee-owned, consulting engineering firm which has provided water, infrastructure, transportation and environmental engineering services to local, national, and international clients for over 60 years.
1 $3000 1 Offered annually to a continuing undergraduate student in the majors listed above in the Schulich School of Engineering.

3 To be eligible the student must demonstrate initiative and leadership qualities through participation in extra-curricular activities within the community, working life or the university.
4 The recipient must be interested in pursuing a career in consulting engineering.
