Q.5 Program Exit Requirements

EAP Tier 3 students who successfully complete all EAP Tier 3 courses with a grade of 'C' or better, will meet the English Language Proficiency requirement for admission into all undergraduate programs* except for the Faculty of Education's Bachelor of Education program. Applicants to the Faculty of Nursing must also present a satisfactory score on the MELAB Speaking test or the Test of Spoken English (TSE) in addition to successful completion of EAP Tier 3. Please refer to the English Language Proficiency information provided in the Undergraduate Admissions section or consult the following web site for details: .

Students who achieve a grade of 'B+' or higher in EAP 190 (Tier 3), Academic Writing, will additionally meet the Effective Writing requirement of the Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ. Students who are unsuccessful in achieving a minimal grade of 'C' in any Tier 3 course must repeat only the unsuccessful courses for a grade of 'C' or better.

Students repeating courses will not have the original grade removed from the transcript of record. The transcript of record will indicate both the original grade and the repeated courses with the final grades in the term(s) in which they were taken. Appeals of grades in EAP courses will be heard by a special committee.

*The EAP Program may not be used to meet the ELP for admission to the Faculty of Education's Bachelor of Education program.

*Successful completion of EAP Tier 3 courses meets the ELP requirement for the Haskayne School of Business and the Faculty of Nursing. Open Studies EAP Tier 3 students applying for Undergraduate programs in these Faculties must present verification of successful completion of EAP Tier 3 courses by appropriate deadline dates. Admitted EAP + Undergraduate Degree students who wish to change their degree program to these two faculties must present verification of successful completion of EAP Tier 3 courses by appropriate deadline dates.
