Welcome to your Students’ Union (SU)! With the MacEwan Student Centre as our home, the SU exists to serve and represent Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà (U of C) undergraduates. We are committed to the quality of education, the quality of student life and the affordability and accessibility of post-secondary education. We provide a unified voice to lobby and advocate for the student community.
We strive to foster a sense of pride and belonging for students. Your SU manages the MacEwan Student Centre - the hub of student activity on campus – to provide you with space, programs, products and services so you can study, eat, drink, meet with friends, enjoy some entertainment and have some fun. We believe that the student experience involves more than just the classroom.
Make the most of your experience at the U of C by getting out and getting involved. Join one of our more than 290 SU-sanctioned student clubs. Volunteer around campus, around town or around the world to make a difference or gain experience. With ten diverse volunteer programs to fit different schedules and skill-sets, chances are we have an opportunity to interest you. Attend some great events and concerts, get involved in research or explore the range of programs and services your SU offers. There is something for all tastes and interests.
Your SU runs a number of businesses in the MacEwan Student Centre and all proceeds from these student-owned ventures are reinvested directly into SU programs, services and events and help keep your student fees low. We offer student-priced printing and book consignment services at Bound & Copied. Good food and entertainment can be found at The Den/Black Lounge and there are fantastic concerts in Mac Hall. Drop by Stor for everything you need, like coffee, newspapers, transit tickets, and phone cards, not to mention nutritional powerhouses like chocolate, pop, chips, and ice cream. Or choose from a selection of organic produce, yogurts and other snacks. Stor has low prices and convenient hours that cater to students. As landlord, we also bring you a range of retail and service businesses and the popular food court. The SU also operates the MacEwan Conference and Event Centre which rents out function space to both university and off-campus clients and provides free meeting and event space to SU-sanctioned clubs.
