Notes:
1. A 400-level or higher technical course from the Faculty of Science or another engineering department may be substituted for a technical elective with permission of the Head of the Department of Geomatics Engineering.
2. Technical electives in the undergraduate program and all graduate courses are offered, in any academic year, at the discretion of the department.
3. Students are eligible to obtain a Certificate of Completion from the Canadian Board of Examiners for Professional Surveyors (CBEPS) upon completion of the following approved courses, which are offered as part of the Geomatics Engineering program (CBEPS examination subject numbers and names are noted in parentheses): Geomatics 443 Geodetic and Engineering Survey Laws (C30 Advanced Surveying), Geomatics Engineering 579 Survey Law and Practice (C9 - Survey Law), Geomatics Engineering 581 Land Use Planning (C10 - Land Use Planning and Economics of Land Development), Business and Environment 395 Business Law for Strategic Decision Makers (C11 - Business Practices & the Profession), Geomatics Engineering 545 Hydrographic Surveying (C12 - Hydrographic Surveying) , and one of Geomatics Engineering 451 Design and Implementation of Geospatial Information Systems (E1 - Spatial Databases & Land Information Systems), Geomatics Engineering 559 Digital Imaging and Applications (E4 - Advanced Remote Sensing), or Geomatics Engineering 531 Advanced Photogrammetric and Ranging Techniques (E5 - Advanced Photogrammetry).
Regular program and Biomedical specialization students wishing to take Business and Environment 395 count it as one of their two complementary studies electives. Energy and Environment specialization students wishing to take this course must take it extra to their degrees.

4. Students who complete Geomatics Engineering 443 may request that Geomatics Engineering 451 be taken as a technical elective with permission of the Head of the Department.
