Each Tier (1-3) consists of 13 weeks (approximately 208 hours) of classroom instruction, including formative and summative assessments. Students who place into IFP Preparation Tier 1 courses normally take one year to complete the entire IFP Preparation stream.
Students must complete the Open Studies Application for Admission by the appropriate deadline as outlined in section A.3 (Deadline Dates for Undergraduate Applications for Admission and Transcripts in this Calendar) in addition to submitting all required documentation in support of their application.
Successful completion of IFP Preparation Tier 3 can be used to satisfy the English Language Arts 30-1 requirement for admission purposes. Completion of this requirement is valid only for Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà programs and applicants must meet the deadline dates for admission to an academic program.

All IFP Preparation students who achieve a grade of "C" or better in a course will be permitted to advance to the next course in the sequence. Students who achieve a grade of "C-" or lower in any course will be required to repeat that course. Students repeating courses will not have the original grade removed from the transcript. The transcript will indicate both the grade for the original attempt and the repeated course.
Before beginning any Tier 3 course, students must have completed all Tier 1 courses. Students are permitted to repeat courses. It is recommended that students seeking to repeat courses also speak to an IFP advisor.
IFP Preparation students registered in all required IFP Tier 3 courses are permitted to register in one credit course per term with approval of the IFP Coordinator.
Grades for IFP Preparation courses are not used in the calculation of grade point averages for academic programs. In addition, IFP Preparation courses may not be used for credit toward an academic program.
