4.34.8 Minor in Latin American Studies

The Minor in Latin American Studies is regulated by the section of the Faculty of Arts Graduation Requirements entitled 3.4.3 Minor Fields.

Students must successfully complete at least 30 units (5.0 full-course equivalents) from the Field of Latin American Studies including:

  1. 9 units (1.5 full-course equivalents) Latin American Studies 211, 311, 401.

  2. 21 units (3.5 full-course equivalents) from the Field of Latin American Studies.

Note: In addition to the requirements for the minor, students should realize that competence in Spanish and/or Portuguese is highly desirable particularly if they intend to embark on field work in Latin America.
