Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà Calendar 2022-2023 Admissions A.5 Undergraduate Admission Requirements A.5.3 Transferring from another Post-Secondary Institution
A.5.3 Transferring from another Post-Secondary Institution

Students are considered post-secondary transfer when they have completed 12 units or more of academic course work from a recognized/accredited institution by December 31 of the year prior to the year of admission for Spring, Summer, and Fall entry; and August 31 for Winter entry (unless otherwise stated). Applicants who will have completed fewer than 12 units by December 31 but 12 or more units by May 1 in the year of admission for Spring, Summer and Fall entry will be considered as a high school applicant for early admission and as a transfer applicant for final admission (below), if space permitted. Students not considered post-secondary transfer are reviewed as high school (see A.5 Undergraduate Admission Requirements).

Admission is competitive and meeting the minimum requirement does not guarantee admission. The minimum admission GPA requirement is 2.00; most programs require a higher admission GPA.

Some programs may require applicants to complete, or be in the process of completing, specific course requirements at the high school or post-secondary level. In some cases, university transferable coursework may satisfy high school prerequisites. Post-secondary required courses must be transferable from an accredited/recognized post-secondary institution.

Students are not permitted to register in a Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà degree, diploma or certificate program while simultaneously working towards a credential at another institution, unless a formal partnership exists between institutions. Students who wish to attend the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà as a visiting student (letter of permission) please see section A.8.1 (Visiting Students).

Applications and supporting documents must be received by the stated deadlines: ucalgary.ca/future-students/undergraduate/how-apply/dates-and-deadlines.

Refer to section A.12 (Transfer Credit/Advanced Standing) for information on the transfer of credits.
