Embedded Certificate in Pluralism and Global Citizenship
1. Program Information

For advising, students should consult with the certificate’s Program Co-ordinator or a Program Advisor in the Arts Students’ Centre.

2. Program Requirements

Undergraduate students must successfully complete a minimum of 18 units from the Field of Pluralism and Global Citizenship while fulfilling the following requirements:

a) Core courses (Pluralism 201 and Pluralism 401): 6 units

b) Pluralism and Global Citizenship electives: An additional 12 units from the Field of Pluralism and Global Citizenship.

Students may count 6 units of language study in the School of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures, and Cultures among their electives.

Students can seek permission from the program co-ordinator to count toward the certificate requirements a pertinent course not included on the list of electives. This applies to a topics course that addresses a relevant topic.

Students are encouraged to participate in international learning opportunities and can apply to the program co-ordinator to count courses completed in those settings toward the certificate requirements.

3. Field of Pluralism and Global Citizenship

The field of Pluralism and Global Citizenship consists of courses labelled Pluralism PLUR and the elective courses listed on the website of the Certificate in Pluralism and Global Citizenship.

Many of the courses on the list have prerequisites and some may be in high demand. Registration in these courses is not assured. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that prerequisites are completed.
