4.45.6 BA Honours Gender and Sexuality Studies

A. FACULTY OF ARTS REQUIREMENTS

Students must adhere to the applicable Faculty of Arts requirements in 3.3.2 Honours Degrees.

B. MAJOR-FIELD WITH HONOURS REQUIREMENTS

Students must successfully complete a minimum of 54 units in Courses Constituting the Field of Gender and Sexuality Studies while fulfilling the following requirements:

  1. Core Courses: 12 units Gender and Sexuality Studies 201*, 311, 315, 405.
  2. *Students entering the program in their third or fourth year of study may apply to the Program Co-ordinator to have an additional Gender and Sexuality Studies Option counted in lieu of Gender and Sexuality Studies 201.

  3. Gender and Sexuality Studies Options: An additional 36 units chosen from Courses Constituting the Field of Gender and Sexuality Studies.

  4. Undergraduate Thesis: 6 units Gender and Sexuality Studies 590. A grade of "B-" or higher in Gender and Sexuality Studies 590 is required for graduation with the BA Honours degree.

C. DEGREE OPTIONS

The BA Honours in Gender and Sexuality Studies can be taken with Co-operative Education. See section 3.3.8 Co-operative Education Programs for information and requirements.
