Ways of Making and Knowing
Exploration of how human beings from diverse communities and cultures have sought to understand themselves and their environments through practices of invention, discovery, preservation, and craft. Course Hours:6 units; (3-0) Prerequisite(s):Admission to the Arts and Science Honours Academy Program. Antirequisite(s):Credit for Arts and Science Honours Academy 222 and 220 will not be allowed. Notes:Successful completion of this course in the first year is required for continuation in the program.
Exploration through interdisciplinary frameworks of urgent questions associated with such topics as technology, gender, digital cultures, creativity, politics, race, and the environment. Course Hours:3 units; (3-0) Prerequisite(s):Arts and Science Honours Academy 221 or 222 and admission to the Arts and Science Honours Academy.
Exploration of interdisciplinary modes of inquiry through case studies, with a consideration of how research and cultural frameworks create objects of knowledge and standards of evidence. Course Hours:3 units; (3-0) Prerequisite(s):Arts and Science Honours Academy 321 or 322 and admission to the Arts and Science Honours Academy. Antirequisite(s):Credit for Arts and Science Honours Academy 422 and 501 will not be allowed.
