a) A student who has been deemed to be unsatisfactory in a Block of Study in the pre-clerkship portion of the undergraduate medical curriculum will be required to repeat the block or to withdraw from the MD program. Exceptions may be made by the Associate Dean, UME in extraordinary circumstances.

b) In Pre-clerkship (Year 1 or 2), a student shall be invited to appear before SARC if the Associate Dean UME finds the student's performance and/or academic progression warrants review. The reason for this review may include, but is not limited to, multiple examination deferrals, incomplete courses, or unprofessional behaviour. If the student declines to appear before SARC, SARC will render a decision in their absence based on the documentation (academic or professional) submitted to SARC.
