15-30 seconds/leg
- Stand on a single leg with slight bend at knee and hip
- Both partners hold the same stick (horizontally) with two hands
- Slight elbow bend
- Maintain balance while resisting movement from partner and simultaneously trying to throw partner off balance
- Keep chest upright
- Excessive force from partner that pushes the athlete too far off balance that they cannot recover, or that causes the athlete to be in an unsafe position
- Educate partner about the importance of safety of teammates
- Pair players of similar sizes/strengths together
- Stiff knee
- Cue "Slight knee bend"
- Folding forward at the hips
- Cue "Proud chest"
- Shoulder activation and stability
- Trunk strength and stability
- Prepare body for contact
- Develops ankle stability
- Develops knee control
- Challenges the vestibular system (information about the body's positioning in space, contributing to balance and coordination)
