  • Staggered stance facing partner
  • Both partners hold the same stick (horizontally) with two hands
  • Slight elbow bend
  • Drive legs to push partner forward while resisting movement from partner
  • Keep chest upright
  • Slight bend at hips and knees
  • Excessive force from partner that pushes the athlete too far off balance that they cannot recover, or that causes the athlete to be in an unsafe position
    • Educate partner about the importance of safety of teammates
    • Pair players of similar sizes/strengths together
  • Narrow stance
    • Cue "Widen stance to create a stronger base of support"
  • Folding forward at the hips
    • Cue "Proud chest"
  • Shoulder activation and stability
  • Trunk strength and stability
  • Preparation for contact
