Libraries at the University
The university has seven libraries. Each library focuses on a different subject area and offers various study spaces. The Taylor Family Digital Library (TFDL) is the largest of those and offers various services. It allows students to:
- Get IT help from the Tech Support Desk on the second floor
- Book a workroom for group projects
- Print from library computers or wirelessly from your laptop
Attend workshops for academic and writing support, library research, and technology topics, and get one-on-one support from librarians.
Students will need to show their UCID for access to the TFDL.
Student Wellness Services
Student Wellness Services is your on-campus student health and wellness centre, with a wide range of service options. Visit them for medical and mental health care, nutrition, chiropractic and massage appointments with our team of professionals.

Safety Services/Campus Security
UCalgary has implemented safety services to enhance your safety while on-campus. These services include:
- Safewalk volunteers walk people safely to their destination, anywhere on campus, and are available to students 24/7.
- The Working Alone system is a web-based check-in, checkout system with Campus Security. Campus Security will check on students who have registered as working alone.
- The Emergency Communication system alerts the university campus community in emergency situations

Varsity Pharmacy's “on campus prescription service” provides injections, smoking cessation counselling, medication reviews and direct billing to student/private insurance plans.
Shop for LGC Certified batch tested and Informed Choice athletic supplements, stethoscopes for nursing and medical students, as well as everyday cough & cold, pain relief, vitamins, health & beauty products, snacks and drinks.
Lottery tickets are also available in store.

Food Services (Meal plans)

Writing Symbols Lodge
The Writing Symbols Lodge offers assistance with program advising, registration, post-secondary sponsorship information, volunteerism, employment, and personalized support and referrals to Indigenous students and community.

The Q Centre is a new resource centre for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, and allied (LGBTQA) communities on campus.

The Student Success Centre (SSC) offers a range of services including writing workshops, and academic planning and development workshops. University Child Care Centre Society
Students with children looking for childcare can look at the University Child Care Centre Society. The UCCCS accepts only children of full-time students, full-time staff, and/or full-time faculty of the ɫ.
Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Support
The Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Support Office provides confidential support and resources to individuals affected by sexual and gender-based violence. The office focuses on prevention through education and awareness programs, while also offering guidance, advocacy, and connection to services for those impacted. It is dedicated to creating a safe and respectful campus environment, empowering individuals to seek help and fostering a culture of consent and accountability.
The office accepts walk-ins, but due to the nature of the office’s work, the team may not always be in office during regular hours. Please reach out to svsa@ucalgary.ca if you come by and we are not there to meet you—we will make time to connect with you right away.
