The is a collaborative network of Canadian universities focused on exploring inclusive and innovative learning approaches to foster skill development and prepare university students across the country for the future economy.
FUSION orients itself around a common set of challenges facing universities:
Future Skills modules allow students to build foundational knowledge, apply it and reflect on their learning.
Future Skills modules are grounded in cutting edge research and reviewed by world-renowned experts in the topic. Modules are designed to include:
Implementing Future Skills in your classroom
Modules are open-access and come with suggested facilitation strategies and tools to implement.
Pick a module
Explore the modules in the D2L Future Skills Facilitator Portal. Pick a skill module to start with.
Decide on evaluation
Decide if you plan to evaluate students’ participation and learning from the Future Skills module.
Prepare the module
Upload the Skills module(s) of choice to your D2L by emailing Future.Skills@Ucalgary.ca (our team will help you!).
Set up the module
Customize the Skills module (e.g., add a Dropbox for assignments, add the expectations into your course outline).
During your course
Once your course is up, our team is available for consultation on the modules and to troubleshoot technicalities.
Evaluate
Assess the success of implementation at the end of the course.
