Rehabilitation (Management)

What are the most effective means of managing concussion, from acute medical treatment to rehabilitation of persistent problems?

The ICRP aspires to become the preeminent center in the world for the development of effective treatments for concussion. No single treatment is likely to be effective for all concussions, because symptom profiles vary between patients. An individualized approach is needed that targets interventions to specific symptoms.ÌýFor example, Drs. Brooks, Barlow, and Yeates are collaborating with Dr. Lianne Tomfohr from Psychology, who holds an ACHF Professorship, to test the effectiveness of cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia in children experiencing sleep problems following concussion.
