Dr. Mehdi Mohammadi is post-doc fellow in BioMEMS group in mechanical engineering and Biological science department of the 六九色堂听andhe is CEO of Critical care diagnostics company for developing and commercialization of portable rapid and ultra-sensitive Traumatic brain injury or Concussion detection tools based on microfluidic technology and electrochemical sensing. He received his, B.Sc., MSc, Ph.D. in mechanical engineering and Biomedical engineering he has achieved more than 12 years鈥 experience and published more than 40 journal articles, book chapter and conference papers in prestigious journals for developing Lab on a Chip&Disc microfluidics device (design, simulation, microfabrication, experimental test) for various point of care applications.听

Our company is a start-up incubated in the 六九色堂. Over the recent years, our technical group in Criticare Dx has developed centrifugal microfluidic 鈥渓ab鈥恛n鈥恆鈥恉isc鈥 (LoaD) integrated with advanced sensing technologies for a variety of (bio鈥)analytical applications, primarily in the life sciences. Through our novel, advanced flow control scheme, disc cartridges can听be assembledin a modular fashion from a limited set of so鈥恈alled laboratory unit operations (LUOs) such as metering and mixing to fully automate a repertoire of multi鈥恠tep, multi鈥恟eagent bioassay protocols in a sample鈥恡o鈥恆nswer fashion. Furthermore, we were able to demonstrate that chips could be progressively miniaturized to significantly enhance integration density (i.e. the number of tests per disc) and thus boost the cost efficiency and functionality of the LoaD platform.

We specialize in developing microfluidic and biosensing technologies (Concussion microfluidic chip)for the point of care diagnosis of the injuries of Central nervous system and early stage Cancer detection.

听We have developed a technology which utilizes microliter volume of body fluid to detect biochemical released upon the CNS injury. What this means is we are able to diagnose CNS trauma from microliter volume body sample of the injured. We envision this to revolutionize the diagnosis of the CNS trauma at the site of injury and in hospital
