Students must select a faculty to be nominated to, and 50% of your courses must be from your host faculty. The other 50% can come from other faculties only if there is availability.

Costs
Exchange students pay their tuition and academic fees to the Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ. Other expenses are paid directly to the service provider.Ìý
UAB has a mandatory civil liability insurance fee. It was 4,48€ in 2023-2024.

Did you know that you can take your UCalgary funding with you on exchange?ÌýSince you remain a degree seeking student at UCalgary while on exchange you remain eligible for anyÌýÌýyou are eligible to receive from the university as well asÌý.
Our office administers several awards, including the Global Access Fund (based on a funding-first model where students apply prior to committing to a global learning program) and the (students apply after being accepted to a global learning program; the amount varies year-to-year as the money is split among chosen recipients). Students may only receive these awards once. Please see the funding page, linked below, for more information.
UAB offers on-campus accommodation through the student residence hall . Vila Università ria also offers private accommodation options in shared appartments or host families.
This exchange is open to regular, full-time students in any faculty at UCalgary, who have completed at least 1 year (10 courses) at the post-secondary level (prior to starting the exchange), with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.Ìý
For English taught courses, all students should have some basic knowledge of Spanish.
For courses in Spanish,Ìýapplicants must have a command of Spanish at theÌýÌýaccording to the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR) at a minimum, or have completed at least two 300-level or above courses in Spanish.ÌýCertification of language proficiency may be required.
Students do have the opportunity to take Spanish language courses during their stay for an extra fee. Initial Catalan courses are free.
I’m a student with special needs. Do you have a support service?
We have a service called PIUNE from the FAS (Autonomous Solidary Foundation). It aims to help students with special needs, like a disability, to integrate in our community.ÌýThey offer advice and support to students according to their individual needs and in coordination with teaching staff to enable them to enjoy a full and autonomous academic and social life at university. International travel presents challenges that may not be found when attending classes on campus. There may be a lack of resources, emergency services, hospitals, accessibility issues and/or demands on the physical and the mental self, all of which can challenge individuals when away from their usual support systems and structures.
