The Newcomer Research Network hosted the Mobilizing Knowledge on Newcomers Symposium on October 6, 2023, facilitating exchange of knowledge among newcomer serving sectors in Canada.

About the symposium

°Õ³ó¾±²õÌýOctober 6th,Ìý³Ù³ó±ðÌýNewcomer Research Network (NRN)Ìýat the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà organized a one-day symposium highlighting community-engaged research and innovative service delivery with newcomers. This offered an opportunity to exchange knowledge among newcomer serving sectors in Canada. The symposium featured a keynote presentation, oral presentations from community members, newcomer service providers, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders, and workshops to explore future research collaboration and engagement. Students and community scholars shared their work during the poster session.

The presentations focused on the following four themes:

  • Resettlement and integration
  • Social and health care
  • Education
  • Grassroots community engagement
