The Killam Visiting Scholar Award lets distinguished scholars make significant contributions to academic life at the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà through research, teaching, and their own projects during an extended stay.

Dr. Rittner is an Associate Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Universidade Estadual de Campinas and an international leader in artificial intelligence (AI) for healthcare. Her experience in organizing many workshops and conferences for top societies in her discipline make her a global leader. During her visit, scheduled in Winter 2025, she will deliver seminars, workshops and lectures and will mentor graduate-level projects. Her visit will advance the Faculty and institutional objectives around transdisciplinary research, equity, diversity, and inclusion plans, and open science initiatives.
