Requirements

A student who decides to apply for Honours should at all stages consult closely with the Department about the choice of courses. (An appointment may be arranged by calling the Department at 403.220.5300). The requirements for the Honours degree are as follows:

1. At least 10 and no more than 12 full-course equivalents in Spanish.

2. Students admitted to the Spanish Honours program are required to take the same mandatory courses as students in the BA in Spanish program, plus: Spanish 593,Ìý598 and a 0.5 Spanish option (for a total of 10 full-course equivalents in Spanish). 

Other Requirements

Students must satisfy the general Faculty graduation requirements for their program. See 3.5 Graduation.

1. Students in the Honours Program are strongly encouraged to study for at least one semester in a Hispanophone environment.

2. Students are also encouraged to complete Spanish 475 as part of the 20 FCE required for the Honours Program.
