4.19.2 BA Honours in Development Studies

A.ÌýFACULTY OF ARTS REQUIREMENTS

Students must adhere to the applicable Faculty of Arts requirements in 3.4 Graduation.

B.ÌýMAJOR-FIELD WITH HONOURS REQUIREMENTS
Ìý
Students must successfully complete nine to 12 full-course equivalents in the Field of Development Studies and fulfill the following requirements:

1.ÌýCore Courses: Development Studies 201, 375, 393, 403, 405, 485,Ìý591; General Studies 300, 313, 500.

2.ÌýEconomics Option: 0.5 full-course equivalents from Economics 321, 337, 349, 365, 367.

3.ÌýDevelopment Studies Options: An additional 1.5 full-course equivalents chosen from the Field of Development Studies.

4.ÌýUndergraduate Thesis: General Studies 590.

C.ÌýOTHER REQUIREMENTS

1.ÌýBasic Economics: Economics 201 and 203.

2.ÌýIntercultural Requirement to be fulfilled in one of the followingÌýtwo ways:

(a)ÌýSuccessful completion of at least 1.0 full-course equivalents from an approved post-secondary Term Abroad, Group Travel Study or Individual Travel Study program.Ìý See the Centre for International Students and Study Abroad for programs that are currently offered.

OR

(b)ÌýSuccessful completion of 2.0 full-course equivalents from the Domain of Intercultural Courses (see section 3.2.18).

D.ÌýDEGREE OPTIONS
