Effective Fall of 2011, the Faculty of Education, in collaboration with the Faculties of Arts, Kinesiology, and Science, will initiate a five-year Concurrent (Direct Entry) Program.Ìý Upon completion students will graduate with two degrees, a Bachelors degree in their chosen academic field and a Bachelor of Education.

The Combined Degree with a BEd (Master of Teaching Program) is being phased out, but is still available for Fall 2011 admission. Students who have completed three full-course equivalents (18 units) or more and have a strong record of university achievement have a final opportunity to apply for the Combined Programs that couple a Bachelor of Education with: Canadian Studies (BA), Drama (BFA), French (BA), General Mathematics (BSc), Leadership in Pedagogy and Coaching (BKin), Music (BMus), Natural Science (BSc) or Visual Studies (BFA).

Concurrent Degrees

    Graduate work leading to the Master of Education degree (MEd), Master of Continuing Education (MCE), Master of Counselling (MC), Master of Arts (MA), and to the Master of Science (MSc) is offered under the administration of the Faculty of Graduate Studies in the following:

    The Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies Pan Canadian graduate program (through the Graduate Division of Educational Research) is offered through distance delivery and participation in Summer Institutes at the Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ.     The Master of Continuing Education program (through the Graduate Division of Educational Research) is offered through distance delivery and participation in on-campus institutes. For further details, refer to the Faculty of Graduate Studies Calendar.

    Diplomas and Certificates

    Professional Diploma and Certificate Programs and Post Degree Continuous Learning Diploma and Certificate Programs in Education

    The Faculty of Education sponsors a number of post-degree programs leading to the Diploma or Certificate of the Faculty of Education. These diploma and certificate programs provide for:

    (a)ÌýAdvanced study in an area in which a student has specialized undergraduate preparation; and

    (b)ÌýStudy in a new field, such as a second teaching specialization, in which a student has minimal undergraduate preparation.
