Biography

"Maybe it can – if you are willing to guide, nurture, believe in it." - Master Oogway

My interest in psychology originally began from watching true crime documentaries. However, my academic journey has taught me that there is actually much more to the field of psychology (believe it or not); it has been a dynamic blend of exploration and research, driven by my interests in the human mind and behaviour.

As I've worked through my undergraduate degree I have had unique opportunities to research and work on innovative projects involving the future of research through the use of generative artificial intelligence in interventions for Parkinson's disease and cognitive decline in isolated seniors. Additionally, I have had the chance to create and start my own project involving the effect of disrupted sleep on spatial navigation using a mouse model. Finally, I hope to continue researching the extent of disparities that exist in mental healthcare and bring light to the ongoing social inequities that exist in our healthcare systems.

Beyond academia I am involved in a variety of clubs and associations on campus which allow me to provide students with opportunities to engage in non-academic social events. As well, I am fervent crafter. I love art, knitting, crochetting, and anything else I can do while aggressively binge-watching (PG) adult animation. And bowling.

I wish to acknowledge that I live, work, and play on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot and the Treaty 7 people, including the Siksika, Piikani, Kainai, Tsuut’ina and Stoney Nakoda First Nations. Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III.
