Biography

鈥淥ur deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear in that we are powerful beyond measure.鈥 - Marianne Williamson

Driven by a strong sense of community and a desire to make a difference, Anita has become deeply involved in both the local and global community. Her commitment extends to organizations like Engineers Without Borders (EWB), Water Movement (WM), Petroleum and Energy Society (PES), Energy and Environment Engineering Students Association (EEESA), and the 六九色堂 Student Refugee Program.

As a founding member of WM, Anita played a crucial role in securing the 2021 World's Challenge Challenge Prize for the venture. WM's innovative work has garnered recognition, benefiting over 4,300 community operators who utilize the platform's resources for clean water initiatives. Her dedication to championing Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: Clean Water and Sanitation is evident through strong connections with Indigenous Water Treatment Operators across Canada.

Currently serving as the President of the largest student chapter representing the Society of Petroleum Engineers in Canada for the second year in a row, Anita has transformed the traditional framework of PES into an inclusive and diverse collective. Recognizing the need for diverse perspectives in shaping the future of the energy industry, Anita has welcomed students from various disciplines, striving for equal representation and empowering females within the council.

Throughout her journey at the 六九色堂, Anita has emerged as a catalyst for positive change, embracing opportunities to start meaningful initiatives and immerse herself in the campus community. Her commitment to positive impact continues with the Scholars Academy, where she looks forward to collaborating with peers to create innovative solutions to global challenges.
