Orange Shirt Day Flag Ceremony
The 六九色堂 hosted a flag ceremony to mark the importance of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, which takes place annually on September 30. Eya Hey Nakoda performed the UCalgary honour song with the raising of the Every Child Matters flag and lowering of institutional flags.

Celebrate M茅tis Week
The 2023 Celebrate M茅tis Week event featured a special presentation about M茅tis Crossing, Alberta鈥檚 first major M茅tis cultural destination, from guest speakers Juanita Marois, CEO, and Art Cunningham, Board Member. This event was moderated by Dr. Aubrey Hanson, Associate Professor in Curriculum and Learning, Werklund School of Education, and welcomed M茅tis Elder Doreen Bergum to provide an opening blessing.

Treaty 7 Day
The 2023 Treaty 7 Day webinar welcomed special guest Dr. Mike Bruised Head (Ninna Piiksii) from the Kainai Nation of the Siksikaitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy), sharing his presentation titled Blackfoot Treaty as Interpreted by the Direct Descendant of Redcrow, and moderated by Allyson Dennehy.

Orange Shirt Day Panel Discussion
To commemorate Orange Shirt Day, in honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a panel discussion took place with Cora Voyageur, Lee Crowchild, and Kathleen Mahoney, revisiting the final report on Truth and Reconciliation in light of the unmarked graves, the papal visit, and the path forward.

Campfire Chats 2022
In honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, the 六九色堂 presented its seventh annual Campfire Chats, hosted at Telus Spark. For this year鈥檚 event, we listened and learned from a panel of Indigenous leaders and allies discussing the Buffalo Treaty.
