The Minor in Urban Studies is regulated by the section of the Faculty of Arts Graduation Requirements entitled 3.4.4 Minor Fields. Students must successfully complete at least 5.0 and not more than 6.0 full-course equivalents from the Field of Urban Studies with at least 3.0 full-course equivalents at the 300-level or above. The Urban Studies Minor also requires:
1. Urban Studies 253, 591
2. 4.0 full-course equivalents with:
(a) At least 2.0 full-course equivalents from: Anthropology 379; Canadian Studies 355; Economics 365; Geography 341, 351, 451 and 565*; Political Science 425*; and Sociology 353 and 453;
(b) 2.0 full-course equivalents from the following list and/or from the previous list: Archaeology 325; Civil Engineering 473; Geography 463 and 553; Greek and Roman Studies 325, 327, 445 and 447; Political Science 447 and 451; Sociology 467, 471; Transportation Studies 301, 303, 473, 499, 503 and 513; and Urban Studies 311, 313, 451, 461, 501 and 505.
*Students may take both Political Science 425 and Geography 565, but only one may be counted toward this requirement.
Notes:
- Courses with a strong urban component may be approved by the Program Coordinator.
- No student may count more than 3.0 full-course equivalents from any one discipline toward the Urban Studies Minor.
