In addition to the Faculty of Graduate Studies requirements, entry requirements include:
a) A minimum of 9 units in Psychology or Educational Psychology, including one course each in human development and learning. In addition, applicants are required to have a senior undergraduate Psychology or Educational Psychology course in the area of Communication Skills in Guidance and Counselling, or its equivalent, Communication Skills – Interpersonal and Verbal Facilitation. All prerequisite coursework must be completed with a grade of "B-" or above.
b) A curriculum vitae and a concise rationale for the application (500 words or less).
c) Two references; either academic or practice supervisor.
d) For applicants required to present proficiency in English, a minimum TOEFL (Internet-based) score of 97, an IELTS (academic version) overall band score of 7.0 or a CAEL overall score of 70 (with no section less than 70). This requirement can also be met by completing the with a minimum grade of "A-" in each course.
The test must have been taken within the last two years. When requesting that official TOEFL test scores are forwarded to the Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ, please indicate institution code 0813.
e) Paid employment or volunteer work in counselling-related and research-related roles will be an asset.
