We strive to remove barriers that have been, and continue to be, encountered by equity seeking groups, including women, Indigenous peoples, visible/racialized minorities, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQ2S+.

The Students’ Union’s Q Centre is a safe, comfortable and inviting space for the LGBTQA+ community at UCalgary. Featuring a library and peer support services, the program coordinators and volunteers plan events and direct clients to relevant resources. Guests are welcome to hang out and socialize.

Scarborough National Charter
The Scarborough National Charter on anti-Black racism and Black Inclusion is a commitment by institutions across Canada to redressing anti-Black racism and foster Black inclusion in higher education. The Charter was a co-creation process involving close collaboration with academic institutions, governments, Black political and civic leaders across Canada to recognize the realities of anti-Black racism and develop concrete steps for action in advancing equity and inclusion. Â
Taking Action Against Anti-Black Racism
Universities have a major role to play in responding to anti-Black racism, systemic racism, and racial violence. Universities also have a role to play in education, teaching and learning, and inclusive curriculum. The resources on these pages aim to disrupt a single story of the Black experience shaped by stereotypes and a deficit narrative. Instead, it highlights the diversity of the Black population in Alberta and Canada through stories, statistical profiles, books, films, as well as specific actions we can engage in to educate ourselves and to advance racial justice.Â

Their office is open to both Prospective students (meaning those students who are considering attending the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà and wish to learn more about registering with our office as well as those students who are currently at the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà but not registered with SAS) and Current students (those students who are currently enrolled at the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà and registered with our service), at either the Undergraduate or Graduate level.
