NICE Peer Community

NICE (Neurodiversity Immersive Campus Experience) is a students-in-partnership initiative where student mentors and volunteers work together to create a neuroinclusive experience.Ìý

I’m Kamilah (she/her) and I am a 2nd year BSc. chemistry student and I’m also a NICE student mentor. My interests include history, science, music, human behaviour, and social activism.​

I’m Faith (she/they) and I am an actuarial science second-year student. ​ I’m a NICE Student Mentor. In my free time, I enjoy reading and knitting.Ìý

Hi my name is Amanda (she/her). I’m a NICE student mentor. I'm an MSc student at UCalgary studying human and wildlife coexistence, and I'm passionate about science communication and conservation. I love animals and badminton, and I'm always on the lookout for cool birds!​

Navigating university- and the world at large- can be incredibly taxing as a neurodivergent person. As a student, the NICE program has given me the opportunity to discuss the realities of neurodivergence with others without fear of judgement or being misunderstood. The NICE events offered are some of the only places where I haven’t felt the need to hide intrinsic parts of myself
