Dinos and UC interlock
The Dinos are the athletics teams that represent UCalgary. They symbolise the power, performance and fierce spirit of our university.
The UC interlock is a spirit mark used for merchandise, uniforms, and student-led activities.
Dinos identity elements
The Dinos identity system includes four symbols:

A simplified logo that can be used alongside the university logo.

This symbol features a simple wordmark with 'ɫ' identifier, great for small spaces.

Rex spirit mark
To demonstrate team spirit, a custom 'Rex' graphic was created for use by Dinos Athletics and student groups.
It is a secondary element and can be used on merchandise, marketing collateral, or as a background watermark alongside the Dinos logo.

The official colours of the Dinos are UCalgary red and gold. Black, white, and grey are neutrals.

Size and spacing
The minimum size for general applications is 2.5 cm or 1 inch high. The Dinos logo should be protected on all sides by a clear area to ensure no other text or graphics encroach on the logo.
The clear area is determined by using the height of the D in the Dinos wordmark. The clear area is one times the height of the D on the top and bottom and one times the width of the D on the left and right of the logo.

UC interlock
This spirit mark is an informal identifying element and can be used by:
- Recreational sports teams
- Student groups and clubs
- Alumni groups
Size and spacing
The minimum size for general applications is 2.5 cm or 1 inch high. The UC interlock should be protected on all sides by a clear area to ensure no text or graphics encroach on the mark.
The clear area is determined by using the width of one leg in the “U” itself. The clear area is one times the height of the X on the top and bottom and one times the width of the X on the left and right of the logo.
