Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation
The late Claudette MacKay-Lassonde , P.Eng., was a pioneer for women and a leader in the engineering community. Founder of CEMF, she built the Foundation along with other concerned professional engineers in response to the killing of 14 women engineering students at École Polytechnique in 1989. She held degrees in chemical engineering, nuclear engineering and business and was passionate about supporting women in engineering. Her daughter Julie, also an engineer, is a CEMF Board Director.
Award description
- Must self-identify as a woman
- Possess Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency Status
- Be currently enrolled full-time at a Master or PhD level in an accredited Engineering Program within Canada
- Must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited Canadian engineering program, or have a P. Eng. designation or be a recognized E.I.T. in their province of residence.
