Student Peer Assistance Bursaries
The Student Peer Assistance Bursary program is designed to help those students with a financial burden or those who have more financial need than anticipated. Other types of bursaries are also available through the continuing undergraduate, high school award, Law and Medicine applications.
Funding for the Student Peer Assistance Bursary program is provided by student donations and the Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a bursary, you must be able to demonstrate financial need while also meeting the academic requirements and be in good financial standing at the Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ.
Financial-need criteria:
- Eligible costs minus available resources equals financial need.
- Domestic students need to have financial aid
- International students need to have resources of at least $20,635
- Need must impact ability to continue studies at UCalgary
Academic requirements
The Student Peer Assistance Bursary is currently only for undergraduate students, professional and graduate students are not eligible the bursary.
Undergraduate (continuing) students
- You must have a GPA of at least 2.00 and have been full-time in fall 2023 and winter 2024 terms.
- You must be registered full-time in both the fall 2024 and winter 2025 terms.
Undergraduate (entering) students
- You must have entered the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà with an admission average of at least 65%.
- You must be registered full-time in both the fall 2024 and winter 2025 terms.
Funding Limits
There is a limit to the amount of bursary funding you can receive per year (September – April):
- Up to $1,000; up to $500 for students who have opted out of the donation.
