Biography

I graduated from Westmount Charter School, in Calgary, AB. While in high school, I founded the WCS Career Fair, which brought together over 20 professionals to speak about career pathways to grades 10 and 11 students. I was also involved in student government for 4 years, was the President of the Health Sciences Club and Homework Help Club, and ran the WCS Coat Drive. Also while in high school, I was a member of the Calgary Mayor’s Youth Council, where I focused on advocating for issues affecting youth and providing resources and opportunities for youth in Calgary. One thing I am very passionate about is teaching. Teaching has been an integral part of my life for many years now, from starting to teach piano when I was 12, being a peer tutor and JuMP mentor in my school, teaching English to new Canadians, and even speaking at a TEDEd Conference about the importance of learning soft skills. Teaching has inspired my career goal of becoming a professor, combining this passion with my interest in medicine.

I was motivated to pursue a degree in Kinesiology because of my keen interest in health. I endeavour to learn more about how the human body works and how it’s affected by diseases and treatments. UCalgary has allowed me to get involved in a variety of research opportunities, and I’m currently examining the effects of Atrial Fibrillation and upper-body blood flow. Outside of academics and Research, I hope to get involved in Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà vibrant campus life through clubs and residence.

After undergrad, I hope to pursue medical school, eventually working towards a PhD and getting involved in research and teaching as a professor

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my family, friends, and teachers for all the support they have given me. Their guidance and encouragement have been a wonderful inspiration to me throughout my life.
